New Train Site - Paignton - THE FRIDGE

After many weeks of hard work Sam and Will have got the new Gym in the bay up and running. They are calling it the Fridge. They have all type of kit to use. Powerlifting, Strongman and grip also.

Good Luck Guys.

First Strongman Event Session.

Today, myself and Adam made it back upto the pit, which is a total shithole at the moment, we trained for just over an hour and it felt great for a first event meet for 8 months, so roll on the Mighty Midlander.

London Marathon 2009......... thats it folks......

So it seemed funny 12 months ago saying to Karen, " Lets do the marathon ", well now it doesn't at all, it was one of the best things i have ever done, we didnt get in the ballot ,so when they came out i thought that i'd got away with it, but REGAIN offered us two places as long as we raises some money, so we did.

I really did nothing, i just had to run, the bulk of the work was done by Karen, she organised , sorted travel , and a place to stay, and rasied most the of money.

My brother Paul, ran and kept me going, I honestly couldnt run 1 km when i started , without him ( who ran upto our 12 mile runs ) i dont know if i would of got as far as i did, he meant so much to me.

Saturday night came and so did the nerves , along with a double scotch to calm them, them came sunday morning and the doubts, I could hear everybody that said I couldnt do it saying it again in my head, we walked over to Blackheath, along with the other 36000 people, then we started, and it was good, the first 10 miles came and went easy enough, with all the wonderful londoners cheering us on and calling our names, upto mile 20 it was then walk - RUN, 21 ok, 22 ok, 23 OH FUCK, thats when it kicked in, down the tunnel, and out the other side, The crowds cheering more and more now, ( I'm a big lad , and not alot gets to me but the people brought real emotion ) , 24 came, 25 went, last mile,
#Someone shouted its only a Mile to go................
#i thought " YOU TWAT< ITS STILL A FUCKIN MILE LOL"
# he was only trying to help.....................
#LOL It didnt................
#Down the embankment.......................
#big ben ...................
#right turn ........................
#run that bit, turn right again.................
#absolutely shagged by now. .......................
#walk the last bit i think, oh whats this, its Peter Andre and Katie price , I looked at Kaz, " I'm fuckin having them", so we did and ran to the end. And we'd done it the end.

Now, I'm sat here, not able to walk as i have a HUGE blister on the ball of my left foot, and bruised the ball of my left, The shorts I wore have rubbed, so that my nuts and inner thighs have turned blue and bled everywhere. But I feel good.

Would I do it again??? too true, it was worth every moment.

The last word however goes to my ever patient and tollerant wife, who put so much in to this and into me, I would be nothing without her, she is the most amazing person I have ever met , Karen I love you so much. xxx

London Marathon 2009.

London Marathon 2009 - Al and Karen Lister.

So we are only about 76 Days away from the big day now, and everything is going well, we managed a 12 mile run last Sunday , and turned up at the Tiverton canal for a 13 miler today. However due to the big freeze it was not safe to carry on and retired to the gym's treadmill for a speed / hill session. A big thanks to everybody who has helped and supported us so far.

Esp the likes of Titlebash Tom, Mark Felix and Liz Yelling who donated so much for the cause. Without all of your help and support the fund raising couldn't happen.

The next few weeks are the big ones with the mileage going up and up, we are running at least 3 times a week, and will be running up to 20 miles before " M " day. Think of us , and keep your eyes out for us running past the cameras on the day.

But at the end of the day it's all about seeing one fat bloke running around London.
